Memorial Hospital Recruits New Physicians to Meet Growing Community Needs
9/28/2009 - Marysville, Ohio: As a healthcare organization in an area that has experienced substantial growth over the last several years, Memorial Hospital of Union County has taken significant measures to keep up with the ever changing needs of the community as part of its strategic plan.
To ensure that high quality services are accessible to the residents of Union County, Memorial Hospital has been actively recruiting highly-skilled, experienced physicians, especially in the last six months. Area residents can now count on the services of nearly one dozen new physicians for their healthcare needs.
“We are dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of our community,” says Chip Hubbs, President/CEO of Memorial Hospital. “As a community hospital, it’s our responsibility to keep our finger on the community’s pulse and stay attentive to which healthcare areas are experiencing growth and increased need.”
One such area of growth is the field of pediatrics. Complimenting the well established pediatric practices in the community are Monica C. Gilbert, MD, FAAP and David A. Shisila, MD. Both physicians received their respective medical degrees from The Ohio State University and completed residencies and internships at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. New to the area, Dr. Gilbert joined the team at Mill Valley Pediatrics while Dr. Shisila has signed on with Marysville Pediatrics. Both are currently seeing patients for well visits, sick visits, physicals, and inpatient care at Memorial Hospital of Union County, in addition to other routine office procedures.
Additionally, surgical services have experienced an increase in need. Bringing over 15 years of experience with him, board certified general surgeon, James D. Bové, III, DO, FACOS has joined Memorial Hospital’s surgery team. He received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pennsylvania, where he also completed two residencies. Dr. Bové offers a wide range of general and laparoscopic procedures, including the latest minimally invasive approaches at Memorial Hospital and through his practice, Advanced Surgical Associates.
As an answer to the demand of many residents for the need of an endocrinologist, Trisha L. Zeidan, MD has established the Diabetes & Endocrinology Care Center in Marysville. As a member of the Memorial Hospital Medical Staff she will treat and diagnosis patients for a variety of hormonal disorders including diabetes, infertility, hypertension, and thyroid issues. Additionally, she will collaborate with the diabetes educator on staff at Memorial, to provide a comprehensive care plan for diabetes patients.
Another area experiencing growth is that of obstetrics and gynecology. To meet this growing need, Memorial Hospital assisted in recruiting Danielle Martter, MD. As the newest physician at Marysville Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Martter attended medical school at The Ohio State University and performed her residency at The OSU Medical Center. She will handle both obstetric and gynecology needs, including office visits, general exams and deliveries.
Recently, Memorial Hospital announced a collaboration with the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital at The Ohio State University (OSU) Medical Center to form The Heart Partnership, which will provide residents with expanded cardiology services. In support of the increased service, fellowship trained cardiologist Sharon Roble, MD has joined the Medical Staff of Memorial and the Ohio State University Heart Center at Marysville practice. She received her medical degree from Michigan State University and completed her internship and residency at The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Roble also completed fellowship training at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and University Hospitals Case Medical Center, both in Cleveland. She performs transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and stress tests, echocardiograms, cardiac computed tomography (CT) scans, and more.
To meet the increased demand for podiatry and foot care, Carly Robbins, DPM has joined Dr. George Rutan to form George Rutan and Carly Robbins Podiatry in Marysville. A board certified podiatrist, Dr. Robbins received her medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland and completed a podiatric surgical residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She is actively seeing new patients.
Finally, rounding out the roster of new physicians at Memorial Hospital are board certified neurologists William T. Mayr, MD and Adam N. Ueberroth, MD. Dr. Mayr received his medical degree from The Ohio State University and completed his residency, internship, and fellowship at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Ueberroth specializes in neurodiagnostic testing and evaluation. Both Neurological Associates physicians are seeing patients at Memorial Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Center.
“We are proud to introduce these new physicians to the community,” comments Spence Fisher, Vice President of Business Development and Physician Recruitment. “These doctors are all very excited to become part of our community and create lasting relationships with residents. We look forward to patients receiving the high quality of care and personalized attention Memorial Hospital is known for.”
