Marysville Named One of Ohio’s Best Hometowns
11/7/2006 - Marysville, Ohio: Ohio Magazine named Marysville one of Ohio’s Best Hometowns. Marysville
received this recognition in the November issue of Ohio Magazine along
with Mariemont, Marietta, Maumee and Wooster.
Every town and city was considered for this prestigious award. Cities
were nominated through various sources and editors of Ohio Magazine.
Marysville was selected as the best Hometown in the Central Region.
Marysville competed against all cities and towns located in Logan,
Madison, Marion, Morrow, Knox, Licking, Delaware, Franklin, Fairfield
and Pickaway counties. The competition was narrowed to five finalists.
Judges visited each finalist before making a decision. Competing for
Best Hometown in the Central Region was the most intense competition
reported Richard Osborne of Ohio Magazine. Cities were judged on
community spirit, education, entertainment, Health and Safety, Business
Environment and Cultural and Heritage.
“I know we have a great city now everyone in Ohio knows” stated Mayor Kruse.
“As President of the Union County Chamber and a life long resident, I
am thrilled that Marysville is being recognized with this honor. While
I have always known the benefits of living in this community, it is
great to be recognized by such a prestigious magazine “said Chris
Schmenk.
A Celebration and Award Ceremony is being planned for late January.
