Chip Hubbs, President/CEO of Memorial Hospital of Union County, was presented the Excellence in Leadership Award for his role in improving the quality of life of Union County. In addition, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company was presented the 2012 Large Business of the Year Award and Lamberts Jewelers was honored as the 2012 Small Business of the Year.
Under Hubb's leadership since 2004, Memorial Hospital has significantly expanded its range of health care services and has earned recognition as a leader in patient satisfaction, including the 2012 HealthGrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™, which places the hospital in the top five percent of hospitals nationwide. Also the hospital has been voted Best Place to Work in Union County for the past three years.
Hubbs is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, member and secretary/treasurer of the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) Board of Trustees and board member of the OHA Foundation for Healthy Communities. His professional acknowledgments include Modern Healthcare Magazine's Up and Comer Award in 2002 and Columbus Business First's "Forty Under 40" in 2005.
A champion of the local community, Hubbs has served as a member and president of the Chamber of Commerce and Union County Family YMCA boards of trustees. He also has coached numerous youth athletic teams and served on the United Way of Union County Board of Trustees, the St. Jude Children's Hospital Discover the Dream Sponsorship Committee and as co-chair of the Vision Committee for Trinity Lutheran Church.
Later in the evening, Hubbs was recognized by the Chamber Board of Trustees for nine years of service, alongside four other outgoing members.
