Highly regarded in the medical field, Dr. Shehadi attended medical school at the University of Rochester in New York, where he also completed his surgical internship. He then attended Washington University Barnes Hospital and McGill University’s Montreal Neurological Institute for neurosurgical training. He later completed his fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. In addition, he completed a neurological oncology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
A neurosurgeon focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of conditions that impact any part of the nervous system. This includes the brain, spine, and spinal cord, as well as peripheral nerves. Neurosurgeons specialize in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of a variety of disorders, including herniated discs, vertebral fractures, closed head trauma, and brain tumors.
Dr. Shehadi sees outpatient neurosurgery cases through Memorial Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Center, offering services including the evaluation and management of removal of herniated or degenerative discs in the spine and surgical procedures for spinal fractures. Appointments are available on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month between 8:00 and 11:30am.
