Mobile Meals
Part of successfully maintaining an independent lifestyle in your
senior years is to be able to count on caring people to provide
services you can no longer take care of. Memorial Hospital’s Mobile
Meals service provides nutritious lunches every weekday to people
throughout Union County who can no longer cook for themselves or
are unable to participate in our Community Meals program.
These meals are planned by
a registered dietitian and prepared in Memorial Hospital’s Food and
Nutrition Services kitchen. Each meal is packed in a thermal tray so
it’s just the right temperature when it’s delivered to your home by one
of our friendly volunteers. Once you’re part of our Mobile Meals
program, you’ll also be visited by a registered nurse (R.N.) who will evaluate
your health to ensure that your needs are being met through the
program.
Meal recipients are encouraged to donate whatever they can afford toward
the cost of the program. The approximate average cost of each meal is $6.60. A Supplemental Meals
program that offers the same services as Mobile Meals is available to
people under the age of 60.
