Physical Therapy

Being sidelined due to pain, injury or surgery can definitely put a crimp in your lifestyle. The Rehabilitation Services department at Memorial Hospital can help restore, maintain or improve your physical ability, so you can get back to your normal routine.

Once your doctor refers you to our rehabilitation department, our specialized team (which may include a physiatrist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist or audiologist) will evaluate and treat your condition.

Our professional staff and services are used to treat everything from arthritis, fractures, strains and sprains, to serious medical conditions like brain or spinal cord injuries, cancer, stroke, speech and language disorders and more. Our job is to make the most dramatic difference we can to improve your quality of life.

Physical Therapy
Memorial Hospital's therapists and therapy assistants provide service to patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Our staff includes therapists with advanced training and interests in foot orthotics, orthopedic treatment, spine rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, sport-specific training, women's health, incontinence and pelvic floor rehab, neurological rehabilitation and aquatic assisted therapy.

With services on both an inpatient and outpatient basis, physicians refer patients for treatment of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, orthopedic and sports related conditions and injuries.

Physical therapy is available at both the hospital's main campus on London Avenue and at our satellite office at the Union County YMCA. A warm water pool provides the opportunity for aquatic assisted therapy.
