To build and strengthen relationships within
our community and to cultivate continued support for future growth
is the mission of the Memorial Hospital Development Council. Founded
in 2000, the Council is a network of residents and business leaders
who represent the partnership between the community and the hospital.
The diverse experience and expertise of these individuals make
them a valuable resource to Memorial Hospital and Union County.
The mission of the Development Council
begins with our employees, medical staff and retirees and extends
to those who donate their time and energy through the Auxiliary,
Development Council, board of trustees and volunteer staff. Ultimately,
our mission reaches the patients—the people of the larger
community we stand ready to serve.
Beyond raising financial support for Memorial
Hospital, the Development Council actively promotes a healthy
community through healthcare education, community involvement
and service programs. Basically, the Council is a working link
between the hospital and the people of Union County. There are
six committees of influential community volunteers along with
a hospital committee representing the employees of Memorial Hospital
and the Gables.
Development Council Committees
The Major Gifts Committee
establishes, maintains and strengthens relationships with an elite
group of individuals and businesses capable of contributing $25,000
or more to fund the development of Memorial
Hospital.
The Special Prospects Committee
forms the same links with individuals capable of contributing
$10,000 or more to the Development Fund. Donors become members
of the Diamond Society with special opportunities to network and
attend members-only sneak-preview events.
The Planned Gifts Committee
provides educational materials and programs to make the community
aware of planned giving options and what the concept of planned
giving means to the future of Memorial Hospital.
The Business Relations Committee
fortifies the hospital's connection with the business sector.
The committee arranges educational programs and health screenings
throughout the year to support our mission to be the community's
link to quality healthcare.
The Annual Support Committee
is charged with increasing the overall number of donors to Memorial
Hospital. It is the organizing arm for the Medallion Club ($100
per year or more of giving), our Memorial and Honorary Gifts program
and Partners in Progress (PIP), our employee donation program.
The Community Relations Committee
organizes and conducts programs and educational events for the
benefit of the community at large. Through events like women's
and men's health seminars and a hand washing program for children,
this group of volunteers continues as a vital educational arm
of Memorial Hospital.
